Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using the Solara mobile application or web services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

1. Description of Service

Solara provides tools to help you manage quotes, personal notes, task checklists, habit streaks, birthday reminders, focus timing (Pomodoro), and a local vault on your Android device. Optional quote packs in multiple languages (English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Spanish, French, German) can be synchronized from our public quote server.

2. User Content & Ownership

You retain full ownership of all notes, tasks, habits, birthdays, display names, and personal quotes that you create or enter into Solara.

Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and backups of the content you enter.
Backups: Because Solara operates offline-first and does not automatically store your content on our servers, you are responsible for maintaining backups by utilizing the “Export JSON” tool in the Vault section.

3. Quote Packs & Intellectual Property

Quote packs provided within Solara contain selections from public domain literature, historically attributed quotations, and original curated compilations.

Personal License: Quote pack content is made available for your personal, non-commercial use and reflection within the Solara app.
Attributions: Attributions and translations are provided in good faith. If you believe any quotation infringes upon your copyright or intellectual property, please contact our support team.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Abuse, disrupt, overload, or attempt unauthorized access to the quotes backend service or API endpoints.
Use automated scripts or scrapers to extract or mirror the quote pack catalog for commercial redistribution.
Use Solara to store, transmit, or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or harmful.

5. Purchases & Advertising

All core features and quote packs in this version of Solara are included without mandatory subscriptions or in-app purchase requirements. Ads may appear when the remote is_ads flag in master.json is set to 1.

6. Disclaimers & Professional Advice

Solara is intended solely for personal motivation, mindfulness, and everyday organization:

Not Medical or Professional Advice: The content provided in quotes and life tracking tools is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial counseling.
Reminders & Notifications: Streak calculations, alarms, and notifications are convenience features provided on a best-effort basis by your device's operating system. Solara does not guarantee uninterrupted delivery of reminders.

7. International Consumer Protection & Governing Law

These terms are designed to respect mandatory consumer rights in our supported regions:

European Union & UK (France, Germany, Spain, etc.): If you reside in the EU/EEA or UK, nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights or your right to bring legal proceedings before the courts of your country of residence.
United States: To the extent permitted by law, disputes shall be resolved in accordance with standard commercial arbitration or applicable state jurisdiction.
India: Inquiries and disputes shall be addressed through our Grievance Redressal mechanism in compliance with the Information Technology Act.

8. Availability & Data Loss Disclaimer

The application is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind. Device failure, operating system updates, uninstalls, or accidental deletion can result in data loss. We strongly encourage regular exports of your Vault data.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Solara, its creators, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the application.

10. Modifications & Contact

We reserve the right to revise these Terms of Use. When changes are made, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will be updated. Your continued use of the app following any modifications signifies your acceptance of the revised terms.
